Child Nutrition & Warehousing

Our Mission

At El Centro Elementary School District, our mission is to provide nutritious and delicious meals to every student, fostering their health, well-being, and academic success. We are committed to creating a positive and supportive food environment that nourishes the bodies and minds of our students, setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating habits.

Our School Child Nutrition Program is guided by the following principles:

  1. Nutritional Excellence: We are dedicated to serving well-balanced, wholesome, and diverse meals that meet or exceed the highest nutritional standards, supporting the growth and development of every child.

  2. Education and Awareness: We prioritize nutrition education, empowering students, parents, and staff to make informed choices about their food selections and promoting the understanding of the importance of a balanced diet.

  3. Accessibility and Inclusivity: We strive to ensure that every student has access to nutritious meals, catering to diverse dietary needs, and making our program inclusive for all members of the school community.

  4. Collaborative Partnerships: We work in collaboration with parents, teachers, health professionals, and the broader community to create a comprehensive approach to child nutrition, recognizing that it takes a village to raise healthy and happy students.

  5. Food Safety and Quality: We maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality in all aspects of our operations, ensuring that the meals we serve are not only nutritious but also safe and enjoyable.

  6. Continuous Improvement: We are committed to ongoing evaluation and improvement of our child nutrition program, incorporating feedback from students, parents, and staff to optimize the dining experience and nutritional offerings.

Our School Child Nutrition Program upholds these values and principles to ensure that every student receives the nourishment they need to thrive academically and lead healthy, active lives, making El Centro Elementary School District a place where nutritious food is a foundation for success and well-being.
