Universal Benefits Application (SUN Bucks)

Instructions for Completing Applications

  1. Check Eligibility
    Review the Household Eligibility Chart below. Compare your total household income with your household size.

  2. Determine If You Should Apply

    • If your household income is at or below the amount listed for your household size, please complete an application.

    • If your income is above the listed amount, you do not need to submit an application.

    Note: If your household receives California SNAP (food stamps), your child is automatically eligible for SUN Bucks and should have received benefits during the summer.
    If you did not receive a SUN Bucks card, please call the helpline at (877) 328‑9677.

    Deadline:

    • Applications must be received by September 2, 2025, to be eligible for Summer 2025 funds.

    • Applications received after this date will be considered for Summer 2026 eligibility.

  3. Submit Your Application
    Submit your completed application either:

    • By email: [email protected]

  4. Income Verification (If Selected)
    A percentage of applications will be selected for income verification. If selected, you will receive an email requesting documentation of:

    • The source of income

    • The amount received

    • The frequency (e.g., weekly, monthly)

    Important: Failure to provide this documentation may result in denial of benefits.

  5. After Submission
    Once your application has been reviewed, the District will submit it to the SUN Bucks portal.
    You will receive a letter from SUN Bucks directly regarding your benefits. The District will not have further information.
