This week ECESD made the difficult decision to suspend our food service program due to a staffing shortage caused by the need to have staff tested for COVID-19.
We know that our students rely on this food service, so we have been looking for creative ways to continue the program. We are pleased to announce that we will be having our program this next Monday thanks to our friends at Central Union High School District.
CUHSD, under the direction of Superintendent Ward and Assistant Superintendent Preciado, have agreed to serve our food at Central Union High School.
Additionally, we have identified enough qualified staff members to open two of our five sites for service. This Monday you may pick up food at either Harding School, Hedrick School or at Central Union HS between the hours of 11:00 - 1:00PM. Keep in mind that we have a limited supply of meals and we may be limiting how many meals kits can be provided to each vehicle. Also, please be patient as we know wait times may be longer due to the reduced number of serving sites.
Superintendent LeDoux would like to thank ECESD Assistant Superintendent Curry along with CUHSD Assistant Superintendent Preciado for their diligence and dedication to ensure that we have this opportunity for our children to receive this service.
Although we would typically discontinue the food service when the school year ends, we are looking at ways to continue the service beyond next Monday. Should we be able to do so, it will be announced on our Facebook page at El Centro ESD and on this website.
