The lists are out.  We had over 700 applicants this year.  We only had space for 350 students to be serviced.  Our criteria was that each of the 7 schools had 50 spaces for eligible students.  Because of the high demand the spaces went to the lowest performing students in the older grades from 3rd-8th.  Those who made the intial cut should receive a letter within the next few days.

Ya estan las listas para tutoria!!  Tuvimos mas que 700 solicitudes este ano.  Actualmente tenemos solo 350 lugares para tutoria.  La criteria para eligir fue primero que cada de las 7 escuelas tuviera 50 espacios.  Como hubo tanto demanda para esos espacios, se fueron a los alumnos de mas necesidad de tercero hasta octavo.  Los que ganaron espacio deberian recibir una carta en los proximos dias.

Your child may be eligible for free tutoring if they go to one of the following schools:

  3. Harding
  4. McKinley
  5. Washington
  6. Kennedy 
  7. Wilson

School Choice Transfers

Under NCLB, parents have the right to request a transfer for their children from a program improvement school to a non-program improvement school within the same district. The parents of the students attending PI schools need to be notified of the school's status.

Segun las leyes de NCLB, padres de familia tienen el derecho de pedir una transferencia para sus hijos de una escuela que esta en mejoramiento de programa a una escuela en el distrito que no este en mejoramiento de programa.  Las escuelas en nuestro distrito que no estan en mejoramiento de programa son las siguentes:

There are currently no available Junior High Schools in our district. Please contact District Office for a list of Junior High Schools from other districts.
